The 40 km Gasteinertal valley is home to the beautiful small resorts of Bad Gastein, Bad Hofgastein and Dorfgastein. The valley was first documented in writing more than 1,000 years ago, in 963, and a poem dating back to 1230 mentions the Gastein healing springs as a bathing spot.
